Document Description
The StanCOG 2011 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) establishes regional transportation policy for Stanislaus County. The overall focus for the RTP is directed at achieving a coordinated and balanced multimodal transportation system, while maintaining the integrity of the existing system. A list of projects is included in the RTP that addresses all forms or modes of transportation, including automobiles, transit, non-motorized (including bicycle), passenger rail, freight and aviation facilities. Road projects in the RTP include intersection and interchange improvements, road widening, new roadways, bridge replacement and retrofitting, and installation of traffic signals among other roadway projects. The RTP reflects a fiscally constrained environment and identifies those projects (considered as Tier 1 projects) that have a secure or approved funding source. The 2011 update emphasizes a regional approach to RTP issues and make recommendations relative to the integration of land use and transportation, commodity flows, and adequately address environmental and quality of life issues.
