Document Description
CAL FIRE places a state fire engine at Santa Cruz County's Fall Creek Forest Fire Station which is located in Bonny Don. This project involves the erection of a temporary shelter for the state's fire engine at that facility. As part of this project a single Douglas fir tree will need to be removed. This tree is approximately 16 inches dab, was planted over 20 years ago and is in the middle of a lawn. This is a landscape tree in the middle of an existing fire station landscape. The tree is showing signs of stress due to other construction projects on the site and the drought over the past 3 years. No heavy equipment will be needed for this project, the property has already been converted and the wood from this tree will not be commercialized and would not constitute timber operations requiring a permit. This project will occur on property owned by the County of Santa Cruz.
