Document Description
Pursuant to the Governor's Energy Executive Order S-20-04 calling for a reduction in energy load by 20 percent by the year 2015 for all state facilities, CDCR is undertaking a number of energy savings programs. AT CCI, Tehachapi, CDCR will be removing the hot water and heat load requirements for Level 4A and 4B housing units. Currently, to satisfy the hot water and heat load requirements for Level 4, the heat much travel about three miles from the central plant to the Level 4 facility creating much heat loss in the travel process. The project involves disconnecting the Level 4A and 4B housing units. The boilers are rated at a minimum 85 percent efficiency. No new ground disturbance would be involved; new gas lines will be routed above ground.

This is one of a class of projects the Secretary of Resources has found does not have a significant effect on the environment, therefore, is declared to be categorically exempt from the requirement for preparing an environmental document.
