Document Description
Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) has issued an emergency permit to California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CDFFP) to treat hazardous waste by burning. The hazardous waste to be treated consists of up to 100,000 pounds of fireworks (Department of Transportation Hazard Class 1.4). The items were seized by the CDFFP during multiple seizure actions and are illegal for sale in California. The emergency permit is effective from December 21, 2009 through March 20, 2010. Treatment will be scheduled depending on weather, logistics, and availability of personnel.
