Document Description
This Project implements and informs the developing Lake Tahoe Total maximum Daily Load (TMDL) through two components. The first facilitates urban upland BMP installations on 230 residential (including select single-family, multi-family and lakefront properties) and 40 commercial/light industrial properties in California, which represents less than 1% of the total pollutant load reduction needed to restore Lake Tahoe clarity levels. The second component of the project includes monitoring selected BMP installations for pollutant removal effectiveness to further inform adaptive management of the TMDL. BMPs targeted for monitoring include shallow infiltration basins and deep injection well sites so as to better understand the interface between BMPs and groundwater quality.
