Document Description
Mechanically reduce the down, woody debris and thin the forest to lessen the likelihood of catastrophic fire. Remaining trees would be limited to 10 feet to reduce ladder fuels to lessen the likelihood consumption of these trees by passing fire. A prescribed fire would be applied to the resulting stand to clear debris left from the thinning operation. The project would create a 100 to 2,500 feet to approximately 1.4 miles long along Clark Creek Road. The total treated area is approximately 115 acres.

Project consists of the maintenance of an existing public facility with no expansion of use beyond current levels and the minor alteration in the condition of land and vegetation which does not include the removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees except for forestry purposes and is included as 'reduce fuel loads and control of exotic species' in the Department of Parks and Recreation's list of exempt activities in accordance with CCR section 15300.4.
