Document Description
The Santa Barbara Campus is proposing to install approximately 2,000 bicycle racks at four bicycle parking lot areas on the Main Campus. Racks would be installed on the North-side of Music Building, Davidson Library, Hatlen Theatre, and the Harder Stadium office complex. Bike racks would be distributed evenly throughout the bicycle parking locations, approximately 500 racks at each location. These lots currently overflow with bicycles parked outside of bicycle racks. There would be no expansion of the bicycle lot size, only an increase in the number of bicycle racks in each lot.

Reasons for Exemption
The proposed project would not increase the size of the bicycle parking lots and would only increase the bicycle parking capacity. There would be no land disturbance, only an increase of the number of racks to accomodate the current bicycle overflow. The project is in conformance with the current use of the project location, therefore would be exempt from CEQA review.
