The site is currently zoned as Open Space and is designated as such in the General Plan. The site is currently unused and vacant with native and non-native vegetation is present. Unauthorized recreational land users have been observed on-site. The site is planned to be converted to wetlands as part of the Hamilton Wetland Restoration Project.

Document Description
NOTE: Extended review to end on February 11, 2010. The Hamilton North Antenna Filed (NAF) is a 270-acre parcel located north of the former Hamilton Army Airfield in Novato, California. The site is owned by the California State Lands Commission and was previously owned and operated by the Army as a rifle range and an antenna field with associated support buildings. The Formerly Used Defense Site (FUDS) program is responsible for site remediation of the Hamilton NAF. The NAF is planned to be incorporated into the current congressionally authorized Hamilton Wetlands Restoration Project (HWRP). The US Army Corps of Engineers, San Francisco District, is responsible for the planning, design and construction of the HWRP. The California State Coastal Conservancy is the local sponsor of the HWRP.
