Document Description
The California High Speed Rail Authority proposes to construct, operate, and maintain an electric-powered steel-wheel-on-steel-rail high-speedtrain (HST) between Merced and Sacramento, which is a section of the California HST System. The Statewide HST System is about 800 miles long, capable of operating speeds of 220 mph on mostly dedicated, fully grade-separated tracks, with state-of-the-art safety, signaling, and automated train control systm. The San Joaquin Regional Rail Commission (SJRRC) is interested in providing regional passenger rail service on this section of the HST System infrastructure and will serve as a local partner.
