Document Description
(a) Amend the Land Use, Open Space and Conservation Element of the Kern County General plan from Map Code 8.1 and 8.1/2.5 to Map Code 7.2 or a more restrictive map code designation; (b) Amend the Circulation Element of the Kern County General Plan to change 1 1/2 miles of Driver Road from Arterial to a local street; (c) A change in zone classification from A to M-2 PD or a more restrictive zone district; and (d) Exclusion of approximately 15 acres from the boundaries of an Agricultural Preserve. The request is to allow for the development of 30,000 sq ft manufacturing plant, warehouse, and office for the production of agricultural trellising, stakes, and cross arms. As proposed, water supply for the development would be provided via onsite well, and sewage disposal for the site would be through private septic tank. Access is proposed via Driver Road and Kimberlina Road, which are designated as Arterial alignments by the Circulation Element of the Kern County General Plan. The site also intends to access the polyline Railroad that abuts the eastern boundary via an extension to an existing spur.
