Reasons for Exemption
This project is determined to be categorically exempt from CEQA as it complies with the terms set forth in Section 15301 which pertain to Class 1 projects and Section 15332 which pertains to Class 32 projects. The project consists of reusing an existing small building and its parking structure on a site that is less than one acre in size for the University academic media programs, continuing the institutional designation and use of the site. The project does not change the institutional land use, does not impact any sensitive species or habitat, is located within the established urban service area and is served by all utilities and public services, and approval of the project will not result in any significant effects relating to traffic, noise, air quality, or water quality.
