Document Description
Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA or Agency) will be modifying the existing pump and treat facilities at Prado Regional Park carrying out the following actions: Testing the existing valve, flow meter and pumps operating range; and replacing equipments, including installing a flow control valve (anticipated 6") and a flow meter on the existing bypass pipeline along with two new low capacity Sodium Bisulfate metering pumps.

Reasons for Exemption
The State CEQA Guidelines provide a series of categorical exemptions for project that ahve been deemed to have minimal impacts on the environment. The proposed modifications to the pump and treat facilities at Prado Regional Park system have no potential to cause significant adverse effects on the environment and will ensure the delivery of recycled water to the Regional Park by continuing to operate without equipment or pumping failure. This project will also allow IEUA to more effectively meet the recycled water delivery requirements to the Park. Categorical Exemption Class 1 exempts "operation, repair, maintenance.. or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities and mechanical equipment... involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond that existing at the time of the lead agency's determination."
