Document Description
This SCVTA project is limited to a one-time maintenance activity requested by the City of Milipitas for sediment removal from the culverts under Industrial Way. This work includes removal of sediment build-up from 360 linear ft of culverts that run under Industrial Way and outfall north of the Calaveras Boulevard and State Route 237 overcrossing. This work would enable the culverts to convey all the stormwater flowing in the creek. Sediment would be removed from the culverts by hand or using small equipment. The sediment would be placed into an excavator for removal. The sediment removal from the culverts will be conducted at the same time that the SCVTA will be doing a restoration and enhancement project on a section of Wrigley Creek just south of the Industrial Way culverts. This restoration enhancement project fulfills mitigation requirements applicable to SCVTA's Freight Railroad Relocation/Lower Berryessa Creek Project permitted under Notification #1600-2008-0266-3 (August 1, 2008). The project site is located at Wrigley Creek south of Calaveras Boulevard and State Route 237 overcrossing under Industrial Way, in the City of Milpitas, in the County of Santa Clara.
