- NOTE: Response to Comments The City of Buena Park is updating its 2020 General Plan (adopted in 1994). The General Plan assumes a planning horizon of 2035. The City is approximately 98 percent built out. With the General Plan Update, the City is revising land use designations and adding new use designations. The City has identified 10 key areas for policy focus. These are areas that the City anticipated will have the highest likelihood of change through redevelopment and new development over the life of the General Plan. The General Plan Update anticipates growth in residential, commercial, industrial/office/manufacturing uses over year 2009 conditions within the focus area, as follows: 1,517 dwelling units, 5,363,950 square feet of commercial uses; and 2,910,280 square feet of industrial/office/manufacturing uses.
