Document Description
A wildland fuel treatment project with the objective of reducing fire severity risk and strengthening the fuel break system near State Highway 88 East of Pioneer, CA. In particular, this project will help link the Amador Fire Safe Council (AFSC) Shake Ridge Prop. 40 projects and the Antelope Shaded Fuel Break constructed by Sierra Pacific Industries. The project will reduce horizontal and vertical fuel continuity by treating small trees, brush, and existing ground fuels. The primary treatment will be thinning overstocked stands of mixed conifer timber, pruning residual trees and mulching concentrations of surface fuels.
