Document Description
Grading Permit G09-028 to allow restoration of a segment of the Rough and Ready Creek channel following construction and subsequent failure of a 1+- surface acre water impoundment. Approximately 300 cubic yards of material was deposited downstream in Rough and Ready Creek following the dam failure and will be removed using shovels and vacuum cleaners. Material removed from the stream channel will be stockpiled outside of the stream channel for future removal. Approximately 600 cubic yards of material will be redistributed to restore and stabilize the areas disturbed by constuction of the pond.

After reviewing the project and its setting, the Environmental Coordinator for the County of Tuolumne has determined that the project is categorically exempt from review under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), pursuant to Section 15308 of the State CEQA Guidelines because the project consist of actions taken by regulatory agencies, as authorized by State or local ordinance, to assure the restoration of a stream corridor where the regulatory process involves procedures for protection of the environment.
