Document Description
The Union Sanitary District's (USD's) Alvarado Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) provides wastewater treatment for the residents and businesses of southern Alameda County, California.
Substation No. 1 was constructed in 1978 in conjunction with the Alvarado WWTP Project. This substation supplies 480-volt power to twelve buildings/processes located throughout the treatment plant and is the oldest of the electrical switchboards that distribute 480-volt power. Substation No. 1 resides in an outdoor enclosure that is capable of supplying power from the primary PG&E electrical feed or from the District's back-up power generation system.
While serving USD well over the past 30 years, Substation No. 1has reached the end of its useful life and needs to be replaced.
