Document Description
Restore approximately 2200 square feet of the dune located on the bank of Scenic Road at Carmel River State Beach for resource protection. Work will spray non-native vegetation with herbicide, clear inorganic debris, plant native seedlings, install erosion control measures including jute netting, straw wattles and silt fencing, install temporary signposts and mount informal signs. Additional work will monitor the site including mapping and photo documentation and perform maintenance activities (weeding, pest control, replanting, etc.) for the next 10 years.

Reasons for Exemption
Project consists of minor alterations in the condition of land and/or vegetation that does not involve removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees, the basic collection and resource environmental activities which does not result in a serious or major disturbance to the environemtnal resource and restoration that does not exceed five acres in size to assure restoration, enhancement or protection of habitat for plants and wildlife included as "resource management projects" in the Department of Parks and Recreation list of exempt activites, in accordance with CCR 15300.4.
