Reasons for Exemption
The project purposes to upgrade 76 acres of agricultural land, 338 acres of seasonal wetlands, and 75 acres of irrigated meadow, for total of 489 acres. All units were excavated prior to the State's purchase in 1942. Extension of an existing pipeline and the installation of clover valves will create more efficient water transportation and enhance food production for wildlife. As water is redistributed, wildlife production will increasse. The project will have no significant effect on the environment.
