Reasons for Exemption
The proposed project consists of the installation of a PTC safety system along the tracks that comprise the San Joaquin Corridor; safety alterations to existing utility systems, such as a rail system, that do not expand the capacity of the existing system. The PTC project facilities will be installed within the railroad rights-of-way based upon avoiding significant environmental resources that occur along the corridor alignment. The proposed project does not forecast any potential for significant adverse environmental impacts.
