Document Description
The Butte County Mosquito and Vector Control District (BCMVCD) covers more than 1,600 square miles. It includes all of Butte County, except small areas served by the Durham and Oroville Mosquito Abatement Districts. The District currently uses an approach called "Integrated Vector Management (IVM)" as the primary vector control program. Chemical pest control methods emphasize eliminating mosquitoes in the larval or adult stages. These strategies are aimed at accomplishing the Districts primary goal of "Protecting the Public Health" (BCMVCD 2009).
