Document Description
CDPR proposes to purchase 584-acres of land, comprising 4,399 parcels, which CDPR currently leases from San Luis Obispo County. CDPR now operates the lands as part of Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area (ODSVRA) for off-highway motor vehicle recreation and other beach- and dune-related recreational use. CDPR does not propose changing the use or management of these parcels upon aquisition. All areas currently open to recreation would remain open, all areas would continue to be managed for sensitive resources, and all pre-existing ODSVRA camping and vehicle limits would remain in effect during the event. Any special events that might occur upon the leased parcels would likewise occur once the lands are under CDPR ownership, subject to CDPR permit requirements.
