Document Description
Remove vegetation and conduct a prescribed burn to increase the overall health of the forest and eliminate excessive buildup of surface fuels on 100 acres at Burton Creek State Park. Cut hazardous trees in danger of falling and trees less than 14" in diameter using chainsaws and hand tools to thin vegetation prior to the prescribed burn. Place slash from cut trees in piles and burn or chip and scatter chipped material on site or transport it to an off-site facility. Excavate fire lines to expose mineral soil around burn plots. Spread native mulch and soil on the fire lines after burns are completed to rehabilitate the excavated areas.
