Document Description
Two additional research activities to enhance and extend the public value of the tall tower and sodar datasets are proposed for this amendment. First, AWS Truewind will employ a statistical process similar to that used to adjust the original statewide wind map (contract #500-01-009) to develop updated regional wind maps and bias statistics for the Tehachapi and the Imperial Valley wind resources areas. If the regional biases prove to be statistically important, the new regional wind map(s) will be integrated into the electronic statewide wind map that is currently available through the Energy Commission's Cartography Office. The second line of research will identify and characterize unusual meteorological events that have been captured during the field measurement program.
