This project involves the State of California issuing an easement to Sierra Telephone which will allow Sierra Telephone to underground two conduits for a fiber optic cable along an existing dirt road across lands owned by the State of California. The cable would connect an equipment site on Mt. Bullion to a new equipment site on Fremont Peak and provide improved telephone service to private landowners in the area. The segment crossing State property is 1200 feet long. The conduits will be underground along the centerline of an existing dirt road at a minimum depth of 36 inches. Clean-up tractors will follow to restore the road surface to pre-project conditions.
