A temporary emergency Hazardous Waste Permit has been granted to Fremouw Environmental Services, Inc. (Fremouw) to store hazardous waste beyond the six days provided in Title 22, California Code of Regulations Section 66263.18. The hazardous waste to be stored is aproximately 3670 gallons of used oil, contaminated with polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), contained in a tanker truck. After offloading, the truck's previous load of used oil was found to have been contaminated with PCBs. The truck was immediately refilled without being decontaminated, potentially contaminating the second load.
