Document Description
The project involves various repairs and some new construction of the curb, gutter and/or sidewalks within a number of existing street rights of way in the City of Galt. The project will also include installing new curb ramps or replacing non-compliant curb ramps and driveway approaches along some of these same streets to meet handicapped accessibility requirements. Finally, the city will provide minimum required sidewalk access clearances around various obstructions along these routes. Affected street sections in the City include McFarland Street from Elm Avenue to A Street; A Street from Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) tracks to Lincoln Way and from UPRR tracks to Second Street; C Street from Lincoln Way to Civic Drive; F Street from UPRR tracks to Lincoln Way; and Elm Avenue from UPRR tracks to Industrial Drive. Some minor work will also occur on East Stockton Boulevard (south of Walnut Avenue) and on Kost Road (east of Raven Brook Drive)

Reasons for Exemption
The entire project will be conducted within existing public right of way within only limited pavement or shoulder widening on certain segments to accommodated new curb, gutter and sidewalk. As noted in the previous paragraph, no healthy, mature, scenic trees are expected to be removed as a result of this project.
