Document Description
The City of Redding Police Department proposes to construct a 2 story, 67,500 sf police station; a 10,200 sf support building; and covered, secured parking area at one of three locations immediately west of City Hall between Cypress Avenue and Parkview Avenue. Preliminary site selection involved 5 potential sites. Two of the sites (Sites 1 and 3) were eliminated from further consideration due to their greater impact on park facilities. The proposal also includes conversion of parkland or parkland and park facilities on two of three potential sites (Sites 2 and 4). Additionally, the proposal includes the construction of up to a 200 ft high telecommunications tower/monopole to ensure a reliable public-safety communications system.
