Document Description
The project approved by CDFW consists of the ITP, Major Amendment No. 1, and this Minor Amendment No. 2 as referenced above, which addresses construction and operation of the Fresno to Bakersfield segment of the HST, as approved by the lead agency, affecting or generally related to fish and wildlife resources subject to the regulatory authority of CDFW, including natural resources subject to the CESA. The ITP authorizes incidental take of the threatened CA tiger salamander (Ambystoma californiense), San Joaquin antelope squirrel (Ammospermophilus nelsoni), wainson's hawk (Buteo Swainsoni), and San Joaquin kit fox (Vulpus Macrotis mutica) and the endangered Tipton kangaroo rat (Dipodomys nitratoides nitratoides), (collectively, the Covered Species), species designated as threatened or endangered under CESA. Minor Amendment No. 2 makes fourteen changes to the ITP. These changes include attachment of a Baseline Map Book and references to it within the ITP and clarifications to and revisions of activity- and species-specific measure sin the ITP, none of which allow for or will result in increased impacts to the Covered Species of Covered Species habitat in the Project area.
