NOTE: Amended; Reference SCH# 2009021107 The California High Speed Rail Authority proposes to construct, operate and maintain an electric-powered steel-wheel-on-steel-rail HST between Merced and Fresno, which is a section of the California HST System. The Statewide HST system is about 800 miles long, capable of operating speeds of 220 mph on dedicated, fully grade-separated tracks, with state-of-the-art safety, signaling, and automated train control systems.
