NOTE: NOP/NOI, End review per lead. The California High-Speed Rail Authority is proposing a High-Speed Train (HST) from Los Angeles to San Diego via the Inland Empire, which is a segment of the California HST system for intercity travel between major metropolitan areas of the state. The approved HST system would be about 800 miles long, with electric propulsion and steel-wheel-on-steel-rail trains capable of operating speeds of 220 mph on mostly dedicated, fully grade-separated, access controlled, state-of-the-art track, with safety, signaling, communication, and automated train control systems.
