The Monterey County Health Department is considering the adoption and implementation of various code changes, water quality monitoring and related activities to improve the long-term management of wastewater treatment and disposal systems for the area of Carmel Highlands, which is the Carmel Highlands Onsite Wastewater Management Plan. The Plan consists of the following elements: Management & Monitoring Requirements for Existing Onsite Watewater Treatment Systems (OWTS); Code and Policy Revisions for Conventional & Alternative OWTS; Public Sewage FeasibilityStudy; Requirements for Domestic Water Wells; Public Outreach and Education.
