Document Description
The proposed Martis Camp Lift Pod Access Ski Trail project would provide direct skier access from the frontside of the Northstar-at-Tahoe ski resort to the Lookout Mountain ski pod. The construction of this very short ski trail would reduce the access dependence on the existing Lookout Mountain Link Tow during peak access periods, and would also allow an improved alternative for snowboarders and intermediate skiers seeking access to Lookout Mountain (in lieu of using the Link Tow, which can be more difficult for some skiers/snowboarders to negotiate).

Reasons for Exemption
The project is exempt as all grading will be located on slopes less than ten percent. Existing vegetation is within fuels management areas and tree removals are in accordance with the approved Timber Harvest Plan and prior Placer County environmental document (Mountain Improvements Project (June 2004).
