Gladys Bettencourt owns the 0.39-acre unnamed intermittent drainage ditch that she proposed to relocate back into its historic location for the purpose of being able to use a 7-acre field for rice production. This drainage ditch was built in the 1930's and over time has moved into the middle of the 7-acre field, the project would move the drainage ditch back to the historical location, the drainage ditch is used from approximately May through August and is fed by the Glenn-Colusa Irrigation District. The Army Coprs of Engineers has stated that due to the low aquatic values and highly disturbed nature of the site that the impact to the aquatic environment resulting from this project will be minimal.
