The project will construct green infrastructure stormwater management facilities to reduce sediment and pollutants, and erosive peak flows in the Yuba River. Demonstration projects are ready-to-proceed and include: 1) installation of a rain garden and 2) use of a linear, vegetated catchment swale to capture the treat stromwater, 3) a curb cuts and a sidewalk grated curb cut to direct stormwater off pavement and on the landscaped sites, and 4) onsite groundwater reuse for irrigation to replace the use of chlorine treated water for irrigation. The demonstration projects will also include interpretive features to educate the public on the purpose and need for green, low impact, stormwater management.
