Document Description
The project would illuminate the existing athletic fields at Hercules Middle/High School by installation of overhead lighting on light poles. Illumination would increase the number of hours that the fields could be used by the schools and community members in the evenings. The proposed hours of use are up to 10PM, although for many uses the ending time would be earlier. The project also includes installation of a new transformer, piers for the light poles, associated trenching and minor pavement repair, a press box at the football field bleachers, and a new PA speaker system. An existing graded overflow area would be formalized into a 26 space parking lot and portions of an outdoor area would be repurposed to provide volleyball and outdoor seating. No changes in school operations are proposed. Construction would commence in Fall 2009.
