Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Game is entering into a Lake or Streambed Alteration Agreement (No. 1600-2011-0062-R5) with the Ventura County Resource Conservation District, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code. The Ventura County Resource Conservation District project is limited to the alteration of a variety of habitats, where removal of non-native vegetation and habitat restoration will occur. Specific project activities, including the non-native removal method, monitoring of these areas, and native re-vegetation efforts will be associated with future site-specific restoration plans. Currently, the work areas and impacts were analyzed and mapped using broad and general guidelines. The *Calleguas Creek Watershed Arundo and Tamarisk Removal Program Plan" provides guidelines, measures, and details for initial removal methods, ongoing maintenance, and habitat restoration. The program/project may also serve as streamlining tool for other third party entitles conducting this type of work.
