Mental Health Services Improvements, Salinas Valley State Prison

The proposed project consists of 3 major improvements: (1) expansion and renovation of the existing 7,000 sf Mental Health Services Building by ~17,000 sf for additional treatment and office space to support the Enhanced Outpatient Program, (2) construction of a 72 bed EOP facility, ~35,800 sf in size, for Administrative Segregation Unit inmates and a 60 space parking lot, and (3) conversion of the D2 housing unit from a facility for ASU inmates to an EOP facility for General Population inmates. The proposed project would increase the inmate population at the prison by up to 123 new inmates. Facility staffing would increase by up to 63 new employee over three shifts or watches, increasing total staff at the prison from 1,512 to 1,575.
