Document Description
The County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works proposes to construct and operat a new 15,000 sf gymnasium and community building, renovation of the existing 3,500 sf community center, construction of additional parking, landscaping improvements and upgrades to walkways at El Cariso Community Regional Park in Sylmar. The project would provide a new recreational facility for park programs and special events that can be used by the general public. The new gymnasium and community building would be a one story structure to include: a community room, lobby, classrooms, ADA-compliant restrooms and a fenced courtyard. The new building would be designed to incorporate low-flow water fixtures, energy efficient appliances and systems, and water efficient landscaping as part of its U.S. Green Building Council Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification.
