The Geo Group, Inc. has applied to the City of Adelanto for a conditional use permit and location and development plan permit to construct and operate a 2,200 bed detention/correctional facility at the northeast corner of Raccoon Avenue and Rancho Road. The facility will be constructed on the eastern portion of the 48.72 acre site. The proposed facility is a single story, courtyard structure enclosing 435,585 sf of building area with housing for up to 2,200 residents as well as necessary support services such as medical, administrative, programs and warehousing.
