NOTE: Reference SCH #2007101060 This project includes a General Plan Amendment of the Circulation Element to change the road designation of SR-178 from an arterial designation to a collector designation starting from the intersection of Rancheria Road to the mouth of Kern Canyon; that includes ~2.85 miles of roadway. Arterial roadways require the right-of-way to be 110 ft where possible with the potential for 6 lanes of travel. Collector roadways require only 4 travel lanes within 90 ft right-of-way.
