Approval of a Removal Action Workplan (RAW) by the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) pursuant to Health & Safety Code, chapter 6.8 as submitted on June 9, 2009, by PES Environmental, Inc. The RAW, which is entitled Remediation Work Plan, CHDC Parcel and City of Richmond Parcel, APN 538-181-036 and 538-181-005, Richmond, California, proposes the excavation and disposal of lead-impacted soil, comprising an area approximately 3,950 square feet in size, and 3 feet deep. The purpose of the project is to mitigate lead-impacted soils that exceed project-specific human health and environmental risk criteria and to protect the health of site workers and the surrounding community by minimizing human exposure to lead-contaminated soil.
