Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will carry out a project to replace a damaged culvert on State Route 70 in Plumas County, at Little Blackhawk Creek (mile post 38.5), approximately 4.1 miles north of Quincy. The existing culvert is a 54-inch diameter corrugated steel pipe (CSP)) which has deteriorated due to corrosion and abrasion. It has been determined that the culvert along with a scour hole at the outlet act as a barrier to fish passage, and the concrete headwall and end wall are located within five feet of the traveled highway which is not consistent with modern design standards.
