Document Description
The Project includes installation of three stormwater detention/retention basins, a vegetated bioswale, and a raingarden for treatment of stormwater at the headwaters of Las Positas Creek. Project specific components include: Installing three large detention/retention basins on historic creek channels on City property, in areas not used by the golf club; Constructing 17 wetlands (rock drop pools and smaller basins) in historic Creek channels on City property, in areas not used by the golf club; Constructing 14,136 square feet of vegetated bioswale. Eight hundred (800) linear feet to be constructed at Adams School and the remaining bioswales in historic creek channels of City property, in areas not used by the golf club; Installing a permanent rain garden at the school as part of the bioswale to serve as an outdoor classroom on water quality, wetland process, and local ecology; Planting over 9000 native plants from more than 35 locally native species: about 500 plants at the Adams School and 8500 at the City-owned parcel (in and around the Creek channels and storm water basins); Removing over 800 linear feet of asphalt ditch at Adams Elementary School; Installing grassy swales with riparian trees to treat storm water runoff at the Adams School and in several areas on the City-owned parcel (in and around the Creek channels and storm water basins); and, Diverting residential storm drains to the Project site to capture more stormwater for treatment and decrease downstream flooding at the City-owned parcel.
