Document Description
The proposed project consists of the reconstrucion of an earth berm that provides rockfall protection for a existing residence at the University's Landels Hill-Big Creek Reserve, to reduce the rockfall hazard associated with the adjacent 500-foot-high cliff. The existing berm is 3-4 feet high, 20 feet wide and 220 feet long. The project would increase berm height by 12-60 inches and length by 40-feet, with no increase in width. The berm would be reconstructed using the existing berm material, talus from the nearby slope and adjacent road bed, and about 100 cubic yards of rock and soil from nearby Caltrans construction sites.
