Document Description
For the benefit of the students and staff of the San Antonio Elementary School. The Project will consists of replacing 18 existing relocatable and other classrooms with up to 22 permanent classrooms, including a two story classroom building and a kindergarten classroom building; adding a multipurpose room and administration building; modernizing existing classroom, administration, and multi-purpose room buildings; reconfiguring playing fields, playgrounds and parking lots; removing trees and landscaping to accommodate the project; adding new landscaping and trees, fencing and lighting; and installing new vehicle drop-off lanes for grades K-6 and 7-8.

The project consists of partial reconfiguration of an existing elementary school, replacement of portable classrooms with permanent classrooms, modernization of existing building and minor alterations to the campus to improve drop off, provide adequate lighting and fencing for safety, providing for adequate parking, and related minor improvements and alteration to landscaping to accommodate the project. The project will increase the original student capacity of the school by only 5 classrooms, which is an increase of less than 25 percent or 10 classrooms, and therefore subject to the Class 14 exemption. The remaining alteration are either minor (Class 1), involve replace facilities at previously existing capacities (Class2), involve construction of small structures (Class 3), involve minor alterations to land (Class 4), or add minor structures accessory to existing facilities (such as parking lots)(Class 11). The project site is an existing school site that is not in a particularly sensitive environmental setting.
