Document Description
The Project includes retrofitting approximately 3,750 catch basins in high priority areas in the fifteen Gateway Cities with catch basin inserts, also called linear connector pipe screens. The Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board (LARWQCB) has certified these screens as full capture devices. This construction Project, coupled with weekly or bi-weekly street sweeping already conducted in each participating city, will assist with compliance with the Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) for trash, and will help to achieve a significant milestone in the efforts to improve the water quality of the Los Angeles River.
