Bear Canyon Cross-Tie Crossing - Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2013-0206-R2

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is executing Lake or Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2013-0206-R2, pursuant to Section 1602 of The Fish and Game Code to the project applicant, Geysers Power Company, LLC. The project is limited to the installation of abutments to support a new 90-foot long pipe-bridge over Bear Canyon Creek (see Exhibit B). The pipe-bridge will span the creek approximately 35 feet about the creek-bed. Construction is to occur during the long-flow regime of the creek, and the bridge will be replaced with a crane or helicopter. The ground disturbance will be during the installation of the abutments, which will be placed on the banks on either side of the creek approximately 30 feet above the creek. The west side abutment will be integrated into a condensate collection basin foundation. The condensate basin will have secondary containment. The east side abutment will be a combination of drilled footings and excavated footings. No water diversion will be necessary as the project will not enter the active channel. All work will be done from either side of the creek. Limited vegetation removal will be necessary. Two less than 12-inch diameter oak trees and one 8-inich diameter pine tree will be removed. Some chaparral species will be removed for access to the site.
