The project includes the replacement of an existing 7 million gallon above-ground, steel, Revised 2005 potable water reservoir with 2 concrete, buried reservoirs with similar total capacity. The existing reservoir was constructed in 1965 and does not meet current seismic standards, is exhibiting corrosion problems and has operational limitations. In order to improve water quality and increase the usable storage, the reservoir must operate at a higher elevation which will be more compatible with the hydraulic pressure zone where it is connected.
