Document Description
This project provides financial incentives and technical assistance to growers to plant winter cover crops for erosion control. These cover crops are anticipated to provide sediment load reductions to tributaries of the Pajaro River that we will quantify using the RUSLEII computer model. This project reminds growers of the benefits of cover cropping for both local waterways and grower's soil health. It also opens dialog and fosters relationships between conservation staff and growers to advance the implementation of other farm water quality protection practices.
